2. What data we collect and why

Pitch and application submissions
When you submit your company through our pitch form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), company name, role, and the information and documents you choose to share, such as pitch decks and financial information.
Purpose: to assess your company as a potential investment, to follow its development over time, and to contact you about it.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if provided, your name.
Purpose: to send you news and updates from BackingMinds.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

Contact by email
When you email us, we process your name, email address and the content of your message in order to respond.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Analytics and cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are visited and how visitors found us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as your IP address (shortened), device and browser type, and pages visited.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the Swedish Electronic Communications Act). You can withdraw consent at any time via [the cookie settings link in the website footer].

3. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under data processing agreements:

• Framer B.V. (website hosting and forms)

• Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics)

• Mailchimp / HubSpot

• Zero.inc CRM system used to manage pitch submissions

Where we evaluate an investment, we may share relevant information with co-investors or advisors under confidentiality, but only if we have discussed this with you first.

4. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Some providers, such as Google, may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep your data

• Pitch submissions: We follow companies over time and often revisit them at later funding stages. We therefore keep pitch submissions and related contact information for as long as the company remains relevant to our investment activities. We review our deal-flow records regularly [at least every three years] and delete or anonymise personal data that is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time by contacting hey@backingminds.com.

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

• Email correspondence: as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and at most 24 months.

• Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics retention setting).

6. Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to restrict or object to our processing of it. You also have the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise your rights, contact hey@backingminds.com.

If you believe we process your data incorrectly, you can lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, www.imy.se).
