BackingMinds is backed by several of Sweden’s wealthiest families and entrepreneurs, and is now setting up a base in Denmark. Børsen reported in November 2022 that Danish founders are attracting record amounts of venture capital, but much of it still goes to the same kind of founder. Women, immigrants and founders based outside the Copenhagen region still find it hard to raise money. BackingMinds’ founders Sara Wimmercranz and Susanne Najafi see this as an opportunity. Where other investors’ biases lead them to overlook talented founders, BackingMinds invests, bringing the same strategy to Denmark that it has used in Sweden since 2016.
